Thanks to its floor to ceiling glass rooms, the outside floods in at Phinda Forest. And what an outside it is: a beautiful and rare sand forest of towering torchwood trees. When we stayed, we slept with the blinds fully open, awakening to the sight of forest birds, small animals and a sense of total privacy.
It’s one of the world’s first eco-designed lodges – when they built it they didn’t fell a single tree and it blends into its backdrop seamlessly. It's a place to get away from it all, either in nature or in the well-appointed spa.
