We really rate the Belmond Mount Nelson's relaxed, laid back vibe. It might be slap bang in the centre of the city, but its surrounded by so much greenery it feels more like a little resort. There's a massive pool and it's the kind of place where kids can come to the table in their towel and flip flops and no-one bats an eyelid.
It's recently had a makeover, too - out with the Sanderson prints, in with a new selection of cool, bright rooms and suites. Thankfully, though, its famous high tea is every bit as delicious (and popular) as ever.
As a Mum I was thoroughly impressed with the Mount Nelson. Lots of children having fun, but I could also see couples relaxing and escaping in cosy corners.
