Itinerary
A compact, but wonderfully diverse destination. There is so much more to Rwanda than the world-famous Mountain Gorillas. This 13 day tour is packed full of primates, culture and pristine wilderness.
Day 1
Fly to Rwanda
Overnight flight to Kigali
Day 2
Unwind in Kigali
On arrival into Kigali, you will be transferred by road to The Retreat. A chic, boutique hotel where you will have a chance to unwind and experience some of the sights of Kigali.
High on our list of things to do is a visit to the Genocide Museum, it gives a truly fascinating overview of the country’s past.

Days 3 - 5
On Safari in Akagera National Park
Transfer by road to Akagera National Park, for 3 nights on the banks of the lake. Enjoy game drives to spot the Big 5 and more in this beautiful park.
Set on the shores of Lake Rwanyakazinga, this small camp is an ideal base for a Rwandan safari.
Magashi, 3 nights fully inclusive. Includes: Day & night game drives, boating, catch & release fishing.
Days 6 - 8
Trek with Gorillas
Transfer via Kigali by road to Volcanoes National Park.
A highlight of any stay here is the trek through the slopes of the Virunga Mountains before spending an hour with the Mountain Gorillas. A second day tracking the inquisitive Golden Monkeys is no less rewarding.
Virunga, 3 nights full board, includes 1 Gorilla permit and 1 Golden Monkey permit per person.
Days 9 - 11
Forest Bathe with Primates
Fly over ‘The Land of a Thousand Hills’ by helicopter down to beautiful Nyungwe National Park.
You may wish to do nothing other than relax in this pristine forest setting or wander through the surrounding tea plantation, but we feel sure you will want to take the treetop canopy walk and go in search of the playful chimpanzees.
One & Only Nyungwe House, 3 nights fully inclusive, includes 1 Canopy Tour and 1 Chimp trekking permit per person.
Day 12
Relax in Kigali
Return to Kigali for a final night and chance to explore the designer boutiques.

Day 13
Fly Home
Transfer to the airport for your overnight flight back to the UK
